EVS vapaaehtoinen Italiasta
Hi! My name is Tony, I come from Italy and I`m 21 years old, I was born in the Sicily, the island at the end of Italy, in Milazzo a city in the north-east coast of this island. At the age of 11 years I moved to the north of Italy, in a very small town called Silandro, located in a valley between the mountains, this part of Italy, the south-Tyrol belonged before the second world war to Austria, and now in my town peoples speak two languages, German and Italian so I know the both languages to.
What I do there in Finland? I`m part of an European project, that help to sensitize the young people on Europe community, the European Voluntary Service, that every year give the possibility to young people to take an different experience in another country, and I take this experience there in Kauhajoki, I work also in the Youth House Räimiska.
Why I choose Finland? This country is very divers from mine, the weather, the culture, the kitchen, and also the peoples are different, and I was curious to know it, and at the northern landscape has always fascinated me, your midnight sun and the big forest, so I was attracted to here, I stay there 5 months, and I think it`s better that I come in this period, because I don`t know if I can tolerate your winter, it ́s very cold and for me is your spring like my winter.
I hope that in these months I`ll be able to understand a little of your culture and to leave some of my. I`ve been here an week and already I have noticed many difference between our countries for example the food, the school system, the architecture and structure of the cities, the language, that is very hard, but I will do the possible to learn it, and the locks that are very different than ours. I hope to do a nice experience there in Kauhajoki this summer and I wish you also to have a beautiful summer.
Bye Tony
